Orkiestra, accompanied by soprano Julia Lezhneva, whose dazzling voice perfectly matches this music. Although he is not as recognized today as some of his contemporaries (Handel) or his pupils (Haydn), Porpora considerably influenced Italian serious opera, and was especially appreciated by singers of his time due to his ability to write and adapt his writing for the voices of sopranos and castratti, above all.
